Our Sunday Services are where we meet together as a church community and get to hear more about Jesus. This is probably where most people will visit our church for the first time. Feel free to come as you are. If it is your first time at church, or if you’re just visiting us we would love to meet you. Visiting a new place for the first time can be daunting, but having an idea of what to expect can help. On this page is information to make your visit that easier!
Before the meeting
Feel free to arrive early to meet people from the church before the meeting starts at 10:30am. Our Welcome Team, will be at the door. They would love to know if it's your first time to Carterton Community Church, so please feel free to say hello.
What's a meeting like?
Our meetings are both relaxed and informal, but our focus is clear - we want to get to know Jesus and understand what the Bible says about him. Our times together usually last around 90 minutes, during which there is a time of worship and a talk from the Bible.
Our worship includes a time of singing, usually around 30 minutes. If you're unfamiliar with Christian worship then please don't feel under any pressure to do what everyone else is doing. Feel free to sit or stand, and join in as you wish.
Every week one of the leaders of the church, or a visiting speaker will preach from the Bible, we tend to work through a series of messages that follow a book in the Bible or a particular theme applying the Bible to our lives today. This will often mean that there is an opportunity to be prayed with at the end of the meeting, if you would like.
We love that there are people of all ages in our church, and so we work hard to cater for everyone. We want all of your family to enjoy being at Carterton Community Church, and we have children's programmes usually starting around 11.00am.
What happens after the service?
After each service, refreshments are served and there is plenty of opportunity to chat to people.
